A note from our Founder and Brewmaster, Nick Tanner, about our upcoming Maibock release and National Beer Day:
Next weekend is National Beer Day! Do you know why National Beer Day is so important to us at Cherry Street? Well, not only is it a momentous day in Prohibition History, it is also my dog, Mash's, birthday! We’re raising a toast to this special occasion with a fresh pint of Mash’s Maibock. Mash's Maibock is brewed in honor of my dog, Mash, which is a German Shorthaired Pointer born on April 7th. This year we are celebrating his 10th Birthday!
National Beer Day is the actual day that beer up to 4% could be consumed again after the Cullen-Harrison act was signed into law in 1933, officially repealing prohibition of selling beer in America. While the repeal was approved a few months earlier, this is the most important of the prohibition dates! Then, in 2009, a guy named Justin Smith decided to make an unofficial holiday to commemorate this historic decision, and here we are today - with thousands of beer lovers across the country joining in.
Mash's Maibock
In honor of National Beer Day and Mash’s birthday, we will tap Mash’s Maibock at our Halcyon and Vickery locations on Friday, April 5th at noon. This Maibock uses only the finest German Malts from Weyermann Malting and German Hallertau and Noble hops. Pleasantly balanced with a rich golden rod hue, looks can be deceiving at 7%!
We hope to see you next Friday, April 5th in celebration of Mash's birthday and National Beer Day!
Get a keg filled at one of our three locations. Submit a request for the size and style you'd like and we'll make it happen.
